Tuition Policy:

Lessons taught at Earthshaking Music may be purchased individually, but we require monthly tuition payments for in-home lessons. Tuition amount due will depend on the number of lesson days in the month. Our rates are $30.00/30 minute lesson or $50.00/1 hour lesson.  Tuition payment is due at the first lesson of each month. Students are to pay for that month’s tuition in advance via cash, check or PayPal payment.  Students whose lesson payments are not current will not receive a lesson until payment is received. If paying by check, please make the check payable to the instructor.

*Tuition is subject to a $10 late fee if paid after the 7th of the month.

*A $12 fee will be charged on all returned checks.

*We reserve the right, at our discretion, to dismiss any student whose tuition account is outstanding.


Cancellations:

Approved cancellations are only granted on the first lesson of each month. This coincides with payment of tuition so that adjustments can be made if necessary. For example, if a student is aware at the beginning of the month that he/she will be missing a lesson due to a planned activity such as a wedding, family vacation, school activity, etc., the student will not be charged for that lesson. LESSONS CANCELED WITH LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE WILL BE CHARGED IN FULL, and your lesson will be forfeited, with no opportunity for a make-up lesson.  This includes missing the first lesson of the month.  On the rare occasion that a teacher cancels, compensation will be made in the next month’s tuition; the student will not be charged for the missed lesson.


Cancellations due to sudden illness:

Sometimes a student may wake up feeling sick in the morning.  If a student needs to cancel due to sudden illness, please let us know by 11am on the day of your lesson, and you will be eligible for a make-up lesson.  Make-up lessons expire after 6 months.  A maximum of one make-up lesson per month will be offered for cancellations due to illness.


Inclement Weather Policy:

When school and other activities are canceled on storm days, the weather has frequently cleared by lesson time in the afternoon or evening. If in doubt as to whether or not lessons are on, please call your instructor; the final decision on storm cancellations will be left to the discretion of the teacher. Students will not be charged for lessons canceled by the instructor.


Holidays:

Lessons may or may not be canceled on national holidays. Any lessons canceled will be adjusted for at the beginning of that month; you do not pay for lessons that fall on these holidays.  Lessons will be given during school vacations unless otherwise noted by your instructor.
